3D Floor Plan Rendering Services
2D to 3D Floor Plan Conversion
360 Space provides 2D to 3D floor plan conversion for developers, agents and architects. We convert CAD, PDF and even hand-drawn plans into furnished 3D floor plans, one unit or a whole tower.
02What is different
Convert 2D plan to 3D, accurately
CAD to 3D floor plan conversion is the most accurate route, because walls and openings are already to scale. PDF floor plan to 3D works when the plan is clear and dimensioned. Hand-drawn plans need dimensions or a scale reference.
Batches of unit types are converted together so style stays consistent. Full guide: how to convert a 2D floor plan to 3D.
Accuracy rules
- 01Walls traced to the plan scale
- 02Doors and windows from the drawing
- 03Furniture sized to real dimensions
- 04Open questions flagged before rendering
03What we render
Before and after
What changes from 2D to 3D
- 01Walls raised with thickness
- 02Floor finishes per room
- 03Furniture layout added
- 04Light and shadow for depth
- 05Branding and labels

Convert a 2D plan to 3D for buyers who cannot read drawings
Most buyers cannot read a floor plan the way an architect does. A 2D to 3D floor plan conversion turns lines and symbols into a furnished layout buyers recognise: sofas, beds, a dining table, the swing of a door. We handle CAD to 3D floor plan work and a PDF floor plan to 3D conversion, as well as scans and sketches when drawings are limited.
To convert a 2D plan to 3D accurately, the dimensions, wall thicknesses and openings must be read correctly. We check each plan against the drawing set and flag anything unclear before furnishing. Furniture is sized to the room, so a buyer can judge whether their own sofa fits.
Source files we can convert
- CAD plans
- PDF plans with dimensions
- Image or scanned plans
- Hand-drawn plans with measurements

Plan styles for different uses
| Style | Best for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Furnished top view | Brochures and unit pages | Clear and quick to read |
| Colour-coded zones | Large unit mixes | Distinguishes bedrooms and living |
| Day and night variants | Hero floor plans | Adds atmosphere |
| Branded layouts | Developer-led marketing | Matches the brand palette |
03
From conversion to an interactive plan
A converted plan is the first step toward an interactive floor plan, where a buyer taps a room to see its 360° view. Many clients start with a conversion for the brochure and add the interactive layer later. Because the conversion already defines the layout and furniture, the upgrade is incremental.
04
How a 2D drawing is read before it becomes a 3D plan
A 2D plan carries more information than it appears to. Wall thickness, door swings, window sills, level changes and balcony edges are all drawn, and each one affects the 3D version. We read the plan carefully before modelling, because a missing step or a wrongly placed door is more visible in 3D than it was in 2D.
Dimensions are taken from the drawing and checked against the stated carpet or built-up areas where they are given. If the drawing shows a room of one size and the schedule says another, we ask which governs. Furniture is then chosen to fit the room as drawn, so a bed or sofa is never a fantasy size.
Scanned and hand-drawn plans need extra care. We redraw them to scale, confirm key dimensions with you and mark anything uncertain. It is faster to settle these questions before modelling than after the plan has been furnished.
Common drawing issues we flag
- Rooms whose dimensions do not add up
- Door swings that collide with furniture zones
- Missing balcony or terrace edges
- Unclear level changes or steps
- Different versions of the same plan across sheets
05
How the source format affects the conversion
Better sources shorten the conversion.
| Source | What it allows | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| CAD drawing | Exact dimensions and layers | Trace directly and extrude |
| PDF from CAD | Good dimensions if scale is stated | Confirm scale, then trace |
| Scanned print | Approximate dimensions | Redraw to scale and confirm with you |
| Photo of a drawing | Poor for accuracy | Redraw and ask for a better copy where needed |
| Hand sketch | Idea only | Develop proportions with you first |

Converting a whole project’s unit types
Projects often need many plans at once. We handle them as a batch.
- List all unit types: Including mirrored and reversed layouts.
- Agree a style on one plan: Furniture, flooring, colours and labels set once.
- Apply to the whole set: Every plan follows the approved style.
- Review on one sheet: Differences between plans are easy to see.
- Deliver in the sizes you need: Print, web and presentation versions.
- Update later: Layout changes made to the model, not redrawn.

06FAQ
Questions about 2d to 3d floor plan conversion
Can you convert a PDF or hand-drawn plan?
Yes. We convert clear PDF plans and hand-drawn plans with dimensions or a scale reference into 3D floor plans.
How accurate is the conversion?
360 Space traces walls and openings to the plan scale and sizes furniture to real dimensions. Accuracy depends on the source plan; unclear areas are confirmed with you first.
Can you convert many unit types at once?
Yes. We convert unit types in batches with one consistent style for the whole project.
Can you convert hand-drawn or scanned plans?
Yes, if dimensions are legible or measured. 360 Space reads the plan, checks it against any measurements you share and flags anything unclear before furnishing.
Can the converted plan be used in a brochure?
Yes. We deliver converted plans in print and web sizes for brochures, unit pages and presentations.
What if my 2D plan has inconsistent dimensions?
360 Space flags inconsistencies before modelling and asks which dimension governs, so the 3D plan reflects the intended layout. Common issues include rooms that do not add up or doors that clash with furniture zones, and we settle them at the brief stage.
Can you convert a whole project’s unit types in one go?
Yes. We list the unit types, agree a style on one plan, apply it to the rest and review the set together. Mirrored layouts come from the same model, so the project’s plans look like a consistent family.
Do I need to send furniture layouts for a conversion?
360 Space can propose furniture layouts that fit the room and suit the buyer, or follow yours if you have them. Layouts are approved before the full set is produced, so the plans match what you want to show.
